The role of learning-centered leadership in attitudes toward the teaching profession through teacher agency in elementary school teachers

This study aimed to investigate the role of learning- centered leadership in attitudes towards the teaching profession through teacher agency in elementary school teachers in Kurdistan province. The research method was applied in terms of purpose and correlation (structural equation modeling) in terms of implementation method. The statistical population of the study was 6328 elementary school teachers in Kurdistan province in the academic year 1402-1403, of which 362 people were used in a categorical-ratio method. Data were collected using the Learning- Centered Leadership questionnaires of Liu et al, Attitude to the Teaching Profession of Win and Nwe, and Teacher Agency of Liu et al. The data obtained were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistical methods (Pearson correlation test and structural equation modeling) using SPSS v. 26 and Smart PLS V.3 software. The findings showed that; The effect of learning-centered leadership on attitude towards the teaching profession (0.360) and on teacher agency (0.400) is significant at the 0.01 level. Also, the effect of teacher agency on attitude towards the teaching profession (0.318) and the indirect effect of learning-centered leadership on attitude towards the teaching profession (0.127) are significant at the 0.01 level. As a result, learning-centered leadership can improve teachers' attitude towards the teaching profession through the mediation of teacher agency.
