One of the main problems regarding the employment of university graduates is education-job mismatch in the labor market. The goal of this study was analyzing the role of employability skills on the education-job mismatch among university graduates. This study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of data collection. The statistical population of the research was the graduates of Urmia University between 2011 and 2021, of which 631 people were selected by Relative stratified random sampling method. To collect information, the standard questionnaire of employability skills and the horizontal education-job mismatch were used. Vertical education-job mismatch questionnaire was made by the researcher. To analyze the data, the structural equation modeling method was used. which includes confirmatory factor analysis, path analysis and multiple regression. The findings showed that, the employability skills of university graduates have a positive and significant effect on the education-job mismatch.Also, the effect of the employability skills of university graduates on the horizontal and vertical mismatch were confirmed. There is a significant difference between the graduates of major educational groups in terms of employability skills, horizontal mismatch and vertical education-job mismatch. According to the results, it can be said that the development of employability skills and the adaptation of the education of university graduates with the needs of jobs and professions is very important and should be paid attention to.
