Abstract:   (53 Views)
The present study aimed to design and validate a model for overcoming organizational bias from a pathological perspective in secondary school principals. This study is applied-developmental in terms of its purpose and descriptive in terms of its data collection method, which was conducted with a cross-sectional survey approach. To achieve the goal, an exploratory mixed-method design was employed. The qualitative participants included theoretical experts (educational management professors) and practical experts (secondary school principals). Purposeful sampling was used, continuing until theoretical saturation was reached. In the end, 21 experts participated. In the quantitative section, secondary school principals were the target group, and the sample size was estimated at 384 using Cochran's formula. The quantitative sampling was performed through cluster-random sampling. Data analysis in the qualitative section was conducted using the Grounded Theory method with Maxqda software, and in the quantitative section, Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression analysis was carried out using Smart PLS software. The research findings indicated that causal conditions (individual biases, social biases, and the culture of bias) influence the central phenomenon (organizational bias). Organizational bias, along with contextual conditions (professionalism of school principals and empowerment of school principals) and intervening conditions (bureaucratic school structure), impacts the strategy to overcome bias. Ultimately, the strategy for overcoming bias leads to improved performance of principals, schools, and students.
