Investigating the Relationship between Student Values and Professional Commitment: Intermediation of Academic Competence of Students Shiraz University

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between student values and professional commitment and intermediation of academic competence of Shiraz University. The research method was a descriptive correlational study. The research sample consisted of 357 undergraduate students of Shiraz University who were selected by stratified random sampling method. The research tools included student values, professional commitment and academic competence. After calculating their validity and reliability, they were distributed among the samples and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings showed that the student values have a positive and significant effect on academic competence but it hasn’t significant effect on professional commitment. Also, academic competence has a positive and significant effect on professional commitment. These results indicate that there is a significant and indirect relationship between the student values and professional commitment with intermediation of academic competence. |
