To Create enabling Structure and in Favor of Innovation Requisite of Realizing an
Innovative Schools : a mixed method research

The main purpose of the present study was to identify and explain a enabling structure and in favor of innovation in Tehran high schools in order to make suitable conceptual framework and develop its theoretical principles. The methodology was mixed exploratory, and exploratory sequential design. In qualitative section thirty seven participants were chosen from professors, principals, and innovative teachers as participants on purposive sampling. In quantitative section, the population included all male teachers who were teaching in high schools in 1394. 95. Based on Levy & Lemeshow (1999) a sample of 217 teachers was selected from the population. To choose the sample, multiple step cluster sampling was utilized. To gather data, in qualitative part semi-constructed interviews were used but in quantitative section, a researcher-made questionnaire was utilized. The qualitative part has content validity and the quantitative section has both content validity and construct validity. The reliability of the questionnaire estimated by Cronbach alfa was 0.92. Qualitative part resulted in showing each aspect and component of school innovative structure. By doing confirmatory factor analysis at level one and two, quantitative part resulted clearly in indicating each aspect and main and sub-component of a school innovative structure. The finding suggested that, if school structure are created and become competent based on aspects and identified principles, it provoke teachers and school staff to be innovative.
