The relationship of Principals’ Dogmatism with their Rule Orientation and Teachers’ Understanding of the School Organization Bureaucracy

This study is designed to survey the relationship between Dogmatism and rule-orientation of Principals’ and understanding teachers of bureaucracy of school organization. The methodology was quantitative from descriptive-correlation. The population includes all of Principals and teachers of schools of Sanandaj in academic year 2015-2016. The samples were 40 Principals and 319 teachers choosing simple accidental sampling. It was used three questionnaires to collect information which were derived by previous foreign research. The Rokeach’s dogmatism questionnaire has been used to recognize belief system of administrators, also the Esser & Strother rule-orientation questionnaire and Hall’s organization questionnaire have been used to measure the rule-orientation of administers and organizational bureaucracy, respectively. The reliabilities of Cronbach's alpha coefficients were 83%, 72% and 74%, respectively. It has been used the Pearson’s correlation coefficient, the one sample t-test, two independent samples t-test, variance and follow-up tests in order to analyze data. The results show that there is a significant relationship between Dogmatism and rule-orientation among administrators and teacher perception of bureaucracy in accordance with demographic variable such as degree and gender. Such that, the administrators who have BA degree had higher level of dogmatism and rule-orientation than the administrators who have other degree of education. Moreover, it is reported that teachers who have diploma had higher level of bureaucracy. The perceptions of female teachers toward bureaucracy were higher than male teachers. The findings clearly have shown that there is a significant and positive relationship between dogmatism and rule-orientation variables.
